As one of the most pervasive and damaging invasive species in the United States, developing effective methods to both trap and remove hog, and exclude them from property is one of the most important issues in wildlife management today. In this project, we build and test several different styles of hog traps to 1) examine their effectiveness at capturing, 2) assess the difficulty to build each trap, and 3) detail the effort required to run and maintain each trap. In addition, we also we aim to find a solution to excluding hogs from a designated area by examining the use of low impendence fence chargers, and testing the efficacy of electricity. Our research takes place at the Texas A&M Ecology and Natural Resource Teaching Area, and private property in Brazos County.
